AUDITIONS

Auditions for Grease at Town Theatre will be held January 21 (Saturday) at 12 noon and January 22 (Sunday) at 6:30 pm. ALL ROLES ARE OPEN. NO parts have been pre-cast. We will be holding auditions for people ages 14 and up - looking for teens or older people who can pass as teens who are strong singers and dancers. Please prepare 16-32 bars of music. We will provide an accompanist. NO ACAPELLA, please. Be prepared to dance. Readings will be held at callbacks.

The show will be presented May 4 – 19 and will be directed by Jamie Carr Harrington, with musical direction by Christopher McCroskey and choreography by Tracy Steele.

Female roles include:

Sandy Dumbrowski - Soprano - New in town, a wholesome, pure, kind, clumsy, and innocent girl. Sandy originally planned on going to a Catholic school but changed plans and went to Rydell High. She is a goody-goody who does not drink, smoke, swear, or rat her hair, and the Pink Ladies tease her about her attitude. She falls in love with Danny Zuko over the holidays.

Frenchy – Soprano - Pink Lady-Fun-loving and foolish but very friendly member of the Pink Ladies; dropped out of high school to enter Beauty School; a little light-headed and in her own world and somewhat dumb. Cares a lot about her appearance.

Betty Rizzo – Mezzo - Pink Lady -Tough and sarcastic leader of the Pink Ladies; does not like to hang out with Sandy because she is not tough enough. Smokes, drinks, and does not care what others think of her. Rizzo is also a girl with a "reputation". She feels Sandy is too virginal and pure to be a Pink Lady.

Jan – Mezzo - Pink Lady - Funny, loud, overweight, and awkward member of the Pink Ladies.

Marty – Pink Lady – Alto - Most attractive member of the Pink Ladies; tries to act sophisticated. She likes older guys.

Cha-Cha DiGregorio – Soprano - Apparently the best dancer at St. Bernadette's; wins the dancing competition with Danny.

Patty Simcox - A pretty, peppy, cheerleader, and perky. She's a bit of a pain and unpopular with the Pink Ladies; nominated for Student Council.

Miss Lynch – Chorus - A loud, no-nonsense, serious, English teacher

Pink Ladies - Chorus members. Other cheerleaders/dancers/Rydell High students

Male Roles Include:

Danny Zuko -Tenor- Handsome, cocky leader of the Burger Palace Boys (the T-Birds). Falls in love with Sandy Dumbrowski over the holidays.

Kenickie – Baritone - The tough and rude second-in-command of the Burger Palace Boys (the T- Birds).

Roger – Tenor - A jolly prankster member of the Burger Palace Boys (the T-Birds); loves "putting people on"; loves Jan.

Doody – Tenor - The youngest member of the Burger Palace Boys (the T-Birds); generally foolish, and gullible.

Sonny – Baritone - An obnoxious yet tricky member of the Burger Palace Boys, (the T-Birds) funny Italian-American; "Wise Guy" of the Burger Palace Boys.

Johnny Casino – Baritone - All-American, rock-star student at Rydell High, whose real name is Clarence.

Teen Angel – Tenor - A Cameo Role - (will be Chorus member) Sings Beauty School Dropout.

Eugene - Chorus, A silly, pompous but gullible nerd.

Vince Fontaine – Tenor - An egotistical, slimy radio disk jockey trying to relive his teenage years.

Burger Palace Boys – Chorus - Rydell High students, Dancers at the hop, etc.
