Come to Town and meet Harvey, Elwood P. Dowd’s best friend. They meet one night – Harvey is leaning against a lamppost – and the rest is comedic history. You see, Harvey is invisible. Not only that, he’s a rabbit, six feet tall! Elwood has a society-obsessed sister, Veta, who is horrified when Elwood begins to introduce Harvey to her party guests. She decides to have him committed to a sanitarium to avoid future embarrassment. Due to a comedy of errors, the doctors commit Veta instead.

This play is full of laughter and meaning. It’s a desire for fantasy in a hard world and it will make you happy. In this production the role of Elwood P. Dowd is played by Allan Fulmer, Jr. (Annie) and his sister is portrayed by Kathy Hartzog (Always…Patsy Cline). This comedic duo, so well known to Town Theatre patrons, will ensure a mad-cap evening of enjoyment. They are joined by a fantastic cast including Sirena Dibb (Moon Over Buffalo), Gayle Stewart (Steel Magnolias), Lindsay Brasington (Annie), Chad Forrister (Moon Over Buffalo), Hunter Bolton (Mirrored Time), Frank Thompson (White Christmas), Chip Collins (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast), Melinda Collins (The Odd Couple), and Todd and Taylor Wilson, newcomers to the Town stage.

This is “fun”tasy at its best. You’ll definitely want to meet Harvey. He’ll lighten your load and you will find him living in your imagination as well!
