She is one fantastic lady - Eve, St. Joan, Lady Godiva, Susan B. Anthony, Clara Bow and Florence Nightingale, all rolled into one - and in Town's rendition she has come to life in the person of Mary Beth Branham. In an interesting twist, Mary Beth played this energetic lady the last time Town produced Mame, in 1987, and she's back again for this adventure. From the wealth of New York City to the deep South her life is filled with a myriad of people: an orphan nephew, Patrick, played alternately as a youngster by Connor Odom (Peter Pan) and Will Sox (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever) and by Charlie Duncan (Cats) as the older young man; his disapproving nanny, Agnes Gooch (Town newcomer Lisa Akly); and her best friend, Vera Charles (taken alternately by Catherine Bailey and Janna Nelson, both newcomers to Town) who can't abide children! Marvelous music fills the show with "We Need a Little Christmas," "Bosom Buddies" and, of course, "...wethink you're just sensational...MAME!"
