They'll be no time for a seventh inning stretch in this fast paced show. Starring as Young Joe Hardy is Caleb Jernigan (in his Town Theatre debut). Aiding and enticing the young ball star is Kyle Collins (Camelot) as the devilish Applegate and Giuila Dalbec Matthews (Something's Afoot) as the sensuous Lola. Shannon Willis Scruggs (Cats) appears as the feisty newspaper reporter Gloria along side Gary Pozsik who coaches the Washington Senators. The team includes Gary Jeffers (Workshop's Ragtime), Frank Kiraly (My Fair Lady) as well as George Dinsmore and Andrew Stepp (both of The Wizard of Oz fame). Keeping the home fires burning is Nancy Ann Smith (Gypsy) as Joe's wife, Meg, and her three friends Doris, Sister and Niecy, played by Lou Clyde (The Nerd), Lori Stepp (Mame) and Tiffany Dinsmore (The Wizard of Oz).

Young Joe learns that baseball victories soon pale with the realization that what he left behind is more important that what he achieved. This production will be a home run - with such tunes such as "You've Gotta Have Heart" and "Whatever Lola Wants" - there'll be no rain outs at Town.
